E. Burak Şaman is an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Istanbul 29 Mayıs University. His research focuses on the connections between Greco-Islamic philosophy and the history of Western philosophy, with particular interests in epistemology, physics, and metaphysics.

He earned his B.A. in Philosophy from Galatasaray University in Istanbul, where he later completed his master’s degree in 2010 with his dissertation titled Le Concept de la Sagesse chez Ibn ‘Arabī (The Concept of Wisdom in Ibn ‘Arabī). He obtained his Ph.D. from the same institution in 2015, defending his thesis titled La certitude de la connaissance du point de vue de la distinction de l’âme et du corps (The Certainty of Knowledge in Avicenna and Descartes from the Viewpoint of the Distinction Between Body and Soul).
